Like, the FD discussion on genre fans getting sucked into the wrong genre. I think horror would be the most entertaining, in terms of horror fans ending up somewhere else. Not so much non-horror fans getting sucked in to horror, because that's most horror films.

I'm a multishipper, or just a multi opportunity reader really, I don't really ship any of them much. I have noticed how there is a much larger quantity of fluffy fic in D/C fandom than in Sam/Dean fandom and I'm puzzled as to why?

Anyone have an answer or theory?

do you think that Sam's love interest, Amelia, will be another version of Ruby for Sam? I just find it interesting how Sam is getting a love interest when Dean is gone or missing. Similar to how Sam had Ruby as a love interest in season 4 when Dean was in Hell.

Meme was pissed about the Dean/Castiel summerlovin creators for making it instead of participating in spring_fling. But there were people who wrote for both. Isn't the point to have more content, whether RPF or FPF or specific pairings?

Oh meme, I just finished reading a Clex story and I'm so happy. I have forgotten how awesome that ship could be and how much I loved reading stories that ended with a happy ending or at least with Lex making Clark happy while doing the dirty behind Clark's back.

Main stuff under the cut.

- Will season 8 hinge on Sam trying to save Dean from Purgartory? "No," Singer answers. An amount of time passes before Dean finds his way back from Purgatory (not specified how long). They're planning on doing various flashbacks through the season showing what happened and what Sam did in that time while Dean was away.

- Why use flashbacks? Because fans usually hate it when the brothers are separated, so that's why they're being reunited quickly.

- What about Castiel? They're still framing that out, but Cas will be back a number of times.

- Will Kevin the Prophet be back? "Kevin is an integral part of the year."

- What does Crowley want with Kevin? The King of Hell needs someone to read the word of God. "Every year we start with a theme -- this is our "Raiders of The Lost Ark" year. This season-long story will be a quest. It's about Kevin and the tablets and the Word of God."

- They would like guest characters like Sheriff Mills, Charlie and Garth back, but nothing is concrete yet. "And there's one new character that we're talking about. It's a monster that Dean meets in Purgatory."

- Who will be the big bad this season? It's another angels and demons year. "It's not apocalyptic but about who can gain control and keep demons in Hell or angels in Heaven."

Not a good look, imo.

I am deeply afraid that:

1) Jared's desire for time off will lead to a story arc in which Sam is turned into a puppy, so he can just voice act for 10 episodes.

2) Purgatory will end up looking exactly like Gilligan's Island, if Gilligan's Island aired on HBO and the Skipper sometimes turned into a wolf. In fact, I'm deeply afraid the whole season will be just like Changing Channels, except also Mystery Spot, and also that fanfic I read once.

3) Castiel will lose his hands, and he will replace them with scissors. The kind with the scalloped edges, for scrap booking.

4) There will be a timey wimey inter-dimensional travel episode, in which we will learn that Dean is the father of Jared and Genevieve's alpaca.

5) Someone will watch a movie.

I was lurking over at FFA and a science-type thread came up asking for the wankiest and weirdest fandoms. Unsurprisingly, SPN got a lot of mentions. So as a person who has never been in another fandom, I'm wondering, are we really that bad? My experiences here have been generally positive.

Dean won't be in Purgatory for long, at least when it comes to screen time. Like in previous years when Sam or Dean have gone to hell, they'll be reunited at the beginning of the season and we'll find out how they spent their time apart later on. We're hearing that fans shouldn't be wondering when Dean gets out of Purgatory -- the real cliffhanger is how he gets out.
