It's an intense sort of feeling, and he needs to be prevented from writhing (that's the job of the tentacles) and damaging himself (the last thing anyone wants) or trying to get a tentacle into any of those other orifices before they're good and ready. So yes, a tentacle around his neck, and more twined around his limbs. Perhaps a larger one wrapped around his belly and hips. They can pet and soothe him while the detail work is seen to.
