Because I am a terrible romantic/sentimentalist, I like to imagine that blonde women remind Sam too much of Jess, hence only brunettes (and one redhead).

I find it odd and mildly annoying that Sam's physical preferences did a complete 180 after S3. It was pretty well established that he had a thing for tall, leggy chicks, preferably blondes, which is why I assumed Ruby chose a willow, sunkissed vessel, but then S4 comes around and it's all about petite, compact brunettes.

Whatever, show.

Not really, see Madison, Sarah, in S2 and 1. Jess is the only willowy blond he's shown an interest in.

I'm so tired of this show casting such same-y looking female actresses. She could be a Lisa/Ruby 2.0/Madison hybrid. I get that the CW doesn't allow people who don't meet their excruciating physical standards of beauty but damn, would it kill them to cast an Asian woman or something? Or someone who isn't a size 2?

She looks nothing like Madison or Ruby or Lisa apart from being white and brunette. I agree they could mix up the races on love interests sometimes, but this woman has a more mature and interesting face - to me - than the previous mentioned actresses. So far I'm pleasantly surprised she doesn't look 20 and regular Hollywood-starlet-pretty. Also, I agree it would be nice to have a woman not a size 0 or 2, but that's hardly a CW specific thing.

So, anybody seen New Waterford Girl? Or, there's a couple of Alphas eps on her resume, and I know there's an Alpha-watching anon on meme?

I am really impressed that she started a website to teach girls about their periods, even if it's called Crankytown. I like that kind of activism.

I also like that the actress is older than Sam instead of 10 years younger or something Hollywoodish like that.

And I want this girl and Dean to bond because of Sam just like Sam and Castiel have bonded because of Dean.

No more rivalry and shit. If they want they can have a threesome or foursome with Cas.

I find her verry pretteh myself.

I have watched Alphas and I like her character. Yeah, she talks in a weird way I can't seem to like very much BUT I enjoy her character and I love the interaction with Cameron (possible love interest) and Gary. Maybe the think with the voice has more to do with the character that with the actress.

I'd highly recommend New Waterford Girl, if you like indie films with Nova Scotia accents. Mary Walsh (of This Hour Has 22 Minutes) plays her mother. It's a pretty great 70s coming-of-age-and getting-the-hell-out-of-small-town story.

And I do like that she's a little more mature (and taller!) than some of the women they cast as love interest for Sam.

Now that we have a face to the name, I'm suddenly realizing that the more time Sam spends with this random new character means the less time that he's spending with Dean. And that is making me sadder than I want to admit.

You could always focus on the fact that spending time with a new character is a good way to develop/add new layers of characterization to an existing one, which could in turn influence the brother's relationship (hopefully in a positive way).

Oh, I remember her! She's from Alphas.
Not a great actress IIRC but it's not like 'minor recurring love interest' requires Oscar-worthy talent. Too bad Rose Byrne is too big for SPN now, this one's basically a lesser version of her.

I google-imaged her. She's really super pretty. There are a few pictures where she looks exactly like Natalie Portman, but her features are stronger than Natalie's so she's much more enjoyable to look at.

I'm happy that she's a brunette. Brunettes are obviously Sam (and Jared's) type. I really can't see Sam with blondes for some reason. Sam does look better with brunettes anyways.

I'm absolutely thrilled about Sam's love interest. She's beautiful. Sam needs someone else in his life other then Dean, Dean, Dean all the time. Their codependency is getting really stifling, boring and stale. Sam needs connections, friends and love too.
