To be fair, some or many of the participants may have been unaware springfling existed. I write D/C and I didn't know summerlovin existed until it started posting; it's possible to just miss challenges, even if you're in the target demographic.

Summerlovin's origins are annoying, but not every participant is responsible for or even aware of what went down.

Yes, but then how did those people know the new challenge existed? It would have been just as easy to advertise springfling and for the mods to be like "hey, flist, lets go bring more D/C to this challenge!" instead of being like "everybody hates Cas!" and starting their own. The main gist is that this challenge was started because a few people thought their ship was being slighted. No one is blaming the unwitting authors that might have participated in said challenge without knowing the wanky origins
