(Anonymous) 2012-07-10 04:13 am (UTC)(link)and wait. Creatures are complicated, I get that, imitating one would take a shitload of work. But what about simple inanimate objects? Like a sphere?
And how can he change the appropriate color?
Is he a natural blond?Re: PSA: spn_hardcore_bb
(Anonymous) 2012-07-10 10:56 am (UTC)(link)FIGURE DRAWING CLASSES. Genius. I had been thinking about the anatomy study thing, but figure drawing would be even more useful, and if his focus is there it also explains why he's a bit surprised by the particulars of human genitalia when confronted with a set (and makes the wrong assumption about what to do with the wet orifice in the front; it could happen to anyone). Anyway, this brings me to....
Okay, that my sudden headcanon, what classes actually catch his interest?
With his skillz he'd make sense as an illustration or design major. His neurology naturally emphasizes different visual data than ours does; I bet his caricatures are fucking weird. Anyway, I want his major to be something not explicitly tentacle monster oriented. No marine biology, no astrophysics.
I know Jensen intends to major in business but will actually wind up in something like anthropology or classics. His character arc is about sloughing off the assumptions about himself and what his life is going to be like that are wrong, and also about wanting a tentacle monster to nail him. I think Genevieve is premed.
How good is he a multitasking?
He's always multitasking to some degree, and it's possible that his human-form eyeballs are just cosmetic and he actually sees through his skin, which means he doesn't have to per se look at something to see it and also that he's difficult as hell to sneak up behind. If a task engages both of his primary brains at once, he can't perform a second one of similar complexity simultaneously, but I don't know what the threshold is.
He can make a sphere. He probably also has some standard camouflage shapes he's put a lot of work into, like "unremarkable log".
He changes his surface color and texture via handwave. I'm not going to examine the particulars of this too deeply, because it's tempting to talk about chromatophores and shit, but essentially it is magic.
Funny you should ask about his hair color, because I've been waffling about it. Misha's had some good hair in various roles and I'm always tempted to play around with that (the Alexis Drazen hair, be still my beating libido) but I'm also reluctant to spend a lot of time on physical descriptions of the characters in fanfiction.
