Another one? How many yuletide anonmemes does there need to be?
We're having a potluck at work in a couple of weeks, and I need to find something to bring that will serve 12 people. It can't be a dessert or a beverage. We have these twice a year and I'm just plain out of ideas.
We have a refrigerator for me to store it in until lunchtime. We have a microwave, if necessary, but it's very small (barely can fit a popcorn bag, and caught on fire from it once), so heating up most things is out. It's cold here this time of year, though, so I don't want to bring any foods that too cold.
Any suggestions?

Hello, meme. I am here with a cry for help from any filmophiles. So, my mom is a social worker, and one of the things she does is make "movie nights (not actually at night)" in the slum where she works, in which she brings some kind of movie for everyone to come and watch for free.
She's putting together a list for the next movies she'll be showing, and she's asked for my help. She said that she wants movies that will "awaken one's conscience" about anything, but especially about the environment, and also movies about overcoming struggles and stuff like that.
A lot of the people who watch those movies are children, so she is especially looking for children's movies and cartoons, and just in general, movies that don't have very graphic scenes of sex and violence etc. To give an example, she said she was gonna show Spirited Away, and she also said she intended to show Avatar, to which I said she should watch Princess Mononoke instead, and show that one if she liked it. So, movies from any country are fine, but she'll have to find a dubbed version, so they can't be too unknown.
So why am I here? Well, I'm looking for more movies, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here. I've only seen the first season of Dexter, but IIRC, they're not blood related. So it's not really incest, a la Jamie and Cersei or something. Either way, though, I think it's a horrible idea.
So, CNA training here (PA) is $1,000 and 4 weeks. No financial help. I went to a place that's supposed to help you out w/ employment and they pretty much said RN all the way, can anyone confirm that the money spent is worth it? Also, if I got the CNA BS would that be good to get a job w/ and utilize while (IF) I was in nursing school?
I don't know about where you are but where I am if you become a CNA and start working at the hospital then you have the chance to get into a program where the hospital will help pay for you to become a RN but you will have an, umm, contract to work there for a certain length of time. I would look and see if any hospitals or nursing homes in your area may have any programs like that. If nothing else, being a CNA might give you a leg up in a certain places as you work. The hospital that I worked at very much loved to hire from within so working there as a CNA offered me more opportunities to job openings.

All I am trying to say is that no young girl should be told she is ugly. If she is, you kill her spirit, and she may grow up like me, and lose a fan.

Downloading it, or reading it? There actually isn't that much of the Young Avengers title itself, and their origin story starts at #1. Characters from other Marvel books appear, but you don't need to have read those books to understand what's going on.
I recommend skipping all the Civil War material, but that's because Civil War broke my heart and poured sugar in my gas tank. I haven't read the Children's Crusade yet.

I recently watched Sherlock because all of the season-end hoopla finally got me interested. I find myself wanting fic, but it seems to be tough to find what I am actually looking for...
I think Sherlock is mostly a dick and really don't care about him. I care even less about Sherlock/Watson. What I really want is Watson being BAMF fic, or Watson!abuse at the hands of a dastardly villain and it's all Sherlock's fault. I want Watson being his awesome self and Sherlock actually appreciating or worrying about him and realizing how awesome someone besides himself is for once. Because Watson deserves it, damn it.
