LJ being down has made me realise how much I rely on fandom for escapism. RL stress doesn't happen often but when it does I like having fandom here to retreat into for a couple of days.

Why are you all so immersed in fandom, nonnies? What stays you?

I don't follow tumblr myself, but one of my flist does and from what I heard, tumblr is even more imbalanced in term of BNF vs the rest of them.

I've long noticed a trend that Samgirls on my friendlist ditched show in S4 and 5, the few left are ditching fandom. Some of them still watch but avoid fandom like the plague.

The few left in fandom try not to mingle with the general population.

Just too much Sam!hate around according to them. Fandom thinks Sam is just so meeen to D:eeean according to many Samgirls.

And no, don't ask me where they got this impression because I have no idea. I guess they're just very sensitive?

Anybody else noticed an increased fangirl drop-out?

I've noticed Sam girls being hurt and upset by so-called bashing which was sensitively written and IC portrayals to my eyes. Sometimes I suspect that some Sam girls don't actually like canon Sam, they only like limp Sam, except they won't admit it.

I'm a huge fan of woobie Dean, but at least I can tell the difference between him and Dean on the show.

I'm not familiar with DW, a quick search doesn't seem to yield too many hits on comm/people in supernatural (or am I doing it wrong?) Any nonnies here can guide a DW n00b on what are the bigger spn comms to surf?

I ship Wincest, D/C, Sassy, Cas/Bal and am quite happy to read gen/het/rarepairs.

Try spn_bitesize or something like that. SPN fandom is sadly mostly silent on DW. Like most fandoms.

But I won't get into who I blame for that.

I guess Cas!girls are (mostly) new and expected fandom to welcome them with open arms and accept them and their Cas and like that didn't happen the dislike for Cas is stupid, inmature and so cruel for them.
