Oh God, shut up. All people like you and the thread starter, who go on and on about how Sam and Dean's has gotten stale and boring, and needs to build deep relationships with other character are nothing but Cas fans wanting more Dean screentime and bonding for your favorite. I have seen you say this routine over and over again for over three years.

Not liking Cas doesn't mean that I hate all side characters. Cas is actually the only one on Spn that I have come to dislike.

Wanting Sam and Dean to connect and talk doesn't mean I or others like me want all other characters gone either. I love season 1-3 and there was plenty of side characters.

I think part of the problem with Sam and Dean is that they feel like a stifling, codependent unhealthy parent-child relationship. They'v been stuck in this unhealthiness for seven years. It's getting tedious.

Cas fans amd D/Cers like you are stifling and tedious.

Sure you are and I bet you would want Dean with Cas and Sam with Amalie right?

I used to be like you and now I don't even know what I want anymore. I don't find either Sam or Dean as individuals all that interesting these days, unfortunately. I wish I did. Separate or together, they both feel so flat and uninspired as characters.

I don't need them together and really wish that they weren't doing Purgatory in flashbacks since this is the ideal form of them being apart that I find interesting, but I think the chances of them becoming interesting again go up if they're in closer proximity.

honestly, I do find that the brothers have way more chemistry with other characters then they do with each other. I just find J2's chemistry kind of dull lately. Not a D/C shipper or a shipper at all, but I find Jensen and Misha have more chemistry then Jared and Jensen lately.

I think that's true, but only in certain scenes. Most of the Dean and Cas scenes until the finale felt curiously flat to me, especially in 7.17.

Though really, the chemistry over all feels weirdly down to me, mainly with interactions with Sam or Dean. Dean and Meg also were terribly underwhelming, Sam and Lucifer weren't the most gripping, et cetera. The Sam and Dean scenes feel even worse than most because both Sam and Dean come across as flat to me right now, but neither seems to be bringing much of a spark to the roles. I'm not sure if that's more bad acting (not that either J is a bad actor but late S7 has not been the best time for them, imo) or bad writing or what but it makes them draining to watch.

Agreed. I don't find J2's chemistry mind blowing anymore to be honest. Hell, I'm even bored with J2 fic. I think people have overrated J2's chemistry so much that when we watch them on screen now, it all seems kind of blasé. I don't know, just my opinion. It seems as though the J's, especially Jared, just isn't putting as much effort into his acting opposite Jensen, because Jared is probably so consumed with real life. And now I'm in actor's gossip territory sorry.

Case in point, Sam and Dean (and the two J's chemistry has fallen flat for me the past few seasons).

The chemistry isn't there for me either. I've never been a J2 shipper but I could at least see the chemistry before. Now it's like watching paint dry. :/

Though, for me, it feels like Jensen is the one who isn't trying. I've been very impressed with Jared at turns but Jensen's performance has been underwhelming for me for the past two seasons. Sam was the best thing about 7.17, for instance, while Dean just kind of seemed out of it.

Is it actor gossip if we're only talking about their function as actors? If so, I'm sorry too. D:

People who act like actors (any actor) who have children (especially MALE actors who have stay at home wives to take care of the kid) are so overwhelmed by life that they can no longer deal with their jobs make me LOL IRL.

I think both were a little flat at the end of the season, maybe because the end of the season was flat in general, but mostly I think that Jared in s6 and s7 has been giving a consistently tight and impressive performance. It's true that a lot of it hasn't been with Jensen, since a lot of Sam's stuff has been in his head the last two seasons, or was soulless!Sam where the chemistry was deliberately off, but most of the moments that moved me in s7 were from Sam.

I actually find the Jensen and Misha chemistry totally forced at this point, maybe because of the overuse of fan service-y lines and stuff.

I think the Bobby & Rufus chemistry was the best of the post-Kripke era lol

Sam and Hallucifer were amazeballs.

So were Sam and Dean in some scenes, and not just the 7.2 fireworks: the end of Slice Girls, a lot of Plucky's, a lot of the Mentalists.

Dean and Cas had some good stuff, but more in the quieter scenes. Dean and Krissy played off each other well, as did Sam and Jody.

I like Sam and Cas best when they are more confrontational, but their scene together in 7.21 was also really nice -- Sam's eagerness to communicate, Cas's bafflement.

I honestly think that Meg was just bad all around this seasons. Badly written, and badly acted.

Oddly enough, though each alone I find tiresomely typey, I really enjoyed Dick and Crowley together.

+1 to everything, except that I liked the Meg

That contract scene between Dick and Crowley worked surprisingly well.

I'm a Wincest shipper and Cas-neutral, and I want to see a well developed purgatory storyline, espeically if we're rewarded with a sweet reunion, I think that'd be good for the story and the characters. It is you who jumped to conclusion too quickly methinks.

Actually, as a casfen, I don't give a shit if Cas was thrown in Purgatory with Dean, Sam, Meg or the queen bee. I was just interested in watching how he got along in that new setting.

Nice piece of hostility there, anyway. I'm certainly not going to get the above, so that fact might make you happy, right? So don't fret. Glad to be of service.
