And the scenes where it ends happily ever after in a house with a white picket fence and 2.5* kids and it doesn't possibly end in more heartbreak and/or pain and loss for Sam. <3

I think I love you, nonnie. I am now imagining Sam and Amelia trying to raise their tragic half offspring, while their two uneaten kids become bitter at the fact that their half sibling (a whole new sense of the term) gets all the attention.

I do rather doubt that they are planning to keep a love interest for as long as the series lasts, but I would really enjoy it if they could tell a story about two people who are attracted to each other, get involved, get something genuine and good out of the relationship, decide they aren't suited longterm, break up, and remain good friends.

That's more of a pipe dream than the milkshake, isn't it?

I would really enjoy it if they could tell a story about two people who are attracted to each other, get involved, get something genuine and good out of the relationship, decide they aren't suited longterm, break up, and remain good friends.

That should have been the conclusion of the Dean/Lisa story, with her happy with Dr. Matt (and his Cold One) and living her life.

There's this miniatures-based wargame called Warhammer, and in it, a Cold One is a large lizard, a bit like a chunky Velociraptor, used as cavalry.

Dean could find a Cold One in Purgatory, and could ride it through the forest and bring it back to the real world with him.

It would hang out in the motel bathroom and snap at Sam every time he goes to take a piss, and Dean would be all LOLOLOL.

Ahahaha. I don't play Warhammer, but I know just enough about it to have had this thought too. I think the vampires in Twilight are called Cold Ones also (in one of those stupid etymology games that writers who don't know their shit play -- Cold Ones = Cullens, are you fucking joking). It makes these Matt/Cold One conversations extra entertaining.

That's not enough. I want Sam to settle down with someone. It's always been my dream for this show. To have Sam settle down with a girl at the end of all this. After all that Sam has been through, he deserves a happy ending. I'll be disappointed if I see it ending otherwise.

Well, that will be very sad for you if you are disappointed. But, one, there's no artistic reason why the series needs to have a happy ending and, two, there is a wider range of possible happy endings than Sam settling down with a girl.

I have no objection to the series ending with Sam in a stable monogamous het relationship if that's what happens, but I find the way you inanely pop up and make variations on this same fucking bland, soppy, oblivious comment every time the subject comes up so goddamn annoying that I hope the series ends with Sam going darkside and volunteering to be vored by Dick in a ritual that brings the universe crashing down. Also a puppy dies. And Dean is tormented by gingivitis for the rest of his lonely, miserable life until he dies in a bizarre golfing accident. Just to spite you.

That anon doesn't give a fuck about Dean. If anything, to spite them, you should wish that Dean gets back together with Lisa and they settle and Dean never hunts again but is deliriously happy and in love.

I've got no problem with Sam ending the show settled down with a female love interest but man, you are rubbing me the wrong way something fierce with this. The way you phrase it makes it sound like a) only Sam's happiness at the end matters to you and b) that the only possible "happy ending" is Sam settled and with a girl.

The "Sam's the only thing that matters" part is annoying but whatever, if you only watch for Sam, you only watch for Sam. That said, the other part is much more frustrating. You don't need to be married or have a significant other to have a happy ending, ffs. Meme had a huge wank on this recently.

I want Sam and Dean both to get happy endings. I think they deserve a good ending not a tragic one after all the shit they've been through but while I like the idea of love interests for both of them, "settled and in love" is not the only way a happy ending can be achieved, especially not for these two.
