I'm not fond of Eric for Sam, because in an Spn context I associate the name with Kripke (and didn't someone say on LJ that Kripke made John John E. after himself?) and, longstanding tradition though RP naming is on show, I don't like the idea of Dean or Sam getting real people names.

It's often done to give one kid the mother's maiden name as middle name. One of them could have Campbell.
