Dean looks like he has monster goo coming out of his ear, so I have a feeling that this is just a rip off of Sex and Violence, where they say what they "really mean" while under supernatural influence. If I'm right, then it's just confirmation to me that Carver is repeating S4

Probably went the same way of Benny being a shady and dangerous character. Carver's early statements aren't exactly panning out.

Except for the ones that are depressing to Samfans. Those are panning out.

Maybe everything Carver said was a lie and Sam heroically saved Dean from purgatory through a spell powered by epic Sam/Jody sex. I cannot wait for the reveal.

Oh!! and Sam is all awkward to Jody and like "so.. for this spell to work the spell caster need to... um... consumate, so that means..."

and then Jody is all eye rolly and like "I know what that means, I'm a mom for god sake not some blushing virgin."

Not only S4, that's going all the way back to S1. Seriously not understanding how this version of Sam'n'Dean is the more mature version of them.

I'll just hope for good loomage, at least. Though it's Sam's turn to loom over Dean, right? (Does Levia!Dean count?)

But it is Dean's turn to shoot Sam through a wall...

I'd actually be OK with this, even if it's recycled, as long as we get some decent exploration of Sam's headspace. I feel so fannishly blocked about this season, I can't even imagine writing fic for it. I can barely meta it right now. I've been a Sam!girl from the beginning, and I've never had too much trouble getting into Sam's head, even when it wasn't a very nice place to be. But right now I feel like I'm missing some fundamental piece, I'm just not understanding him at all. Some supernaturally-induced truth might be a good thing, I think.

That's not going to happen. Sam doesn't have any secrets, so there's no need for any special "truth" from him. "Face value," nonnie, face value.

But there's no truth to be revealed from Dean, either. This is going to be the most boring supernatural whammy ever. They will spill the truth about what they had for breakfast, and then they will realize that they were both there and they already knew.

Maybe we will have a noncon breakfast menu from Garth. Joy.

If that scene is really playing out how it seems, and Dean is aiming a gun at Sam, then nope, it's not going to be a direct Sex and Violence ripoff. Because that would mean that what Dean really wanted was to kill Sam, and no way in hell are they going to have Dean do something that makes him look bad. Well, either that or there will be some reason that he would have been right to kill Sam.
