I'm halfway through it and I'm quite enjoying it. I like the pink plaid shirt Sam is wearing at the beginning, and I'm willing to suspend disbelief on the things they needed to be filming to sustain the conceit.

I'm a bit tired of the whole big "OMG, THEY WERE APART FOR A YEAR" deal. Dude, Carver. They'd been apart longer than that when the show started. At the beginning of s4 they'd been apart for a few months Sam time, and forty years Dean time. At the start of s6 they'd been apart for a year Dean and soulless!Sam time; Sam's soul had been apart for 180 years by the time it rejoined them. This isn't the huge, unprecedented thing it's being cracked up to be.
