I was lurking during the trueform discussions but I just want to squee how these drawings are conforming perfectly with my headcanon that additional sets of wings are signs of power. It's such a petpeeve of mine when Cas is drawn with extra wings or Gabriel with only one. I blame the show that Zachariah and Gabriel's ash wings only had one pair.

I just like a whole lotta wings (and faces and so on) irrespective of power, though I do like higher-ranking angels to be either more intricate or much, much simpler (even if you can see them, their true forms can't be processed as "well, there's an eye here, and a wheel there"; they're just vast and scorching and too much). Okay, and I do like it when Gabriel is specifically as he is in the Qur'an, with six hundred wings each shedding precious stones.

Gabriel's Qur'an description is spot on for him, plays into the decadence that I think of with him. I love it so!

/off to research angels across religions

Damn you, specifically and meme in general, for constantly aiding my procrastination. My BB will never get done!
