That, or Sam is severely fucking depressed or has had some new kind of mental breakdown. Which would also make sense but isn't very consistent with what Jared has been saying.
I actually really like the idea of depressed!Sam going to an angel and begging for amnesia and to forget he's a hunter, in a suicidal mirror of what Dean and Castiel did to Lisa.
But there is no way I can get my hopes up that they've done something that good.

Probably I will just sulk on the internet because I don't love this show enough to fic it any more.
