(Anonymous) 2012-07-16 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)I think it's been discussed before, but I really think the D/C'ers being used to less from day one, versus Wincesters who used to have the spotlight at all times and then suddenly didn't, makes a huge difference.
It's hard having been in the fandom during the early years and still being here now, and being smacked in the face with the difference in canon and fandom. It was/is hard dealing with the notable shift away from a Sam'n'Dean centric SPN that started in S4 and has only gotten worse since. And it was definitely hard watching people leave the fandom or jump ship and now being the runner-up in the shipping world when we used to have everything and the show practically OTP'ed as hard as we did.
And, man, I have waited year after year for things to even get close to what I remember and they just get farther away. How is anyone supposed to stay pumped up and believe that things will get anything but worse in light of all that?
