I...didn't say Sam didn't find it sentimental? Sure, he wore it because it was his one physical link to Dean and it probably made him feel better.

Just because the show sentimentalizes it doesn't mean it should be.

And that's your choice not to sentimentalize it, but mocking people who DO because they took their cues from the story canon gave us, isn't very nice
