I just. What? The reaction to your brother disappearing before your eyes is not, "Well, I always wanted a dog. Think I'll try my hand at that." This does not make sense unless it turns out Sam was captured by a djin and this is his own WIAWSNB

I don't think so, because they're doing a flashback of Sam's life for a year. I don't believe there's any supernatural influence.

No, not especially. Sam merrily going off and ignoring Dean being trapped in Purgatory and not doing a damn thing to help get him out leaves me cold. I might want them to end the series settled down, that doesn't mean I wanted one of them to settle while the other is in mortal peril.

also, the girl is gone and Sam is back hunting. No happy ending or normal life. That makes no sense.

So is Sam already hunting again when Dean comes back? The impression I got from the spoilers is that the relationship is over but Sam wasn't hunting again. I could be wrong here, but the whole thing feels very weird and random.

I don't know. But it's still weird.
I mean, he quits hunting,lives a normal life because he thinks there's no reason to fight anymore. Girl is gone. Dean is eventually back. Then he's okay with hunting again? And all focused on helping Kevin? Why? He said there are other hunters, right? and Kevin? he's gone for a whole year.

Strange and random as fuck.
