Yes, quite a bit.
Yes, both RPS (JDM/JA) and FPS (I'm all over daddycest & wondering if anyone wrote some John/Adam already)

Dean/Victor; Dean/Jo; JDM/JA. And Derek / Stiles because I'm a sheep and Sterek is worse than a zombie epidemic.
Dean!girl multishipper
Lemon sorbet or pistachio. Anyway, I'm on a diet, so no ice cream for me :/

So, as someone who shares all of your tastes (except John/Adam, I'm sorry), is Derek/Stiles a good story for the pairing dynamics that you're mentioning here? There's not enough Dean-centric stuff or JDM/JA to keep me busy these days, I could use a new pairing.

The canon Sterek dynamics is pretty close to Spike / Xander from Buffy: they are basically bantery frenemies and sometimes allies. IDK, it works for me but it's a far cry from JDM/JA or my favorite Dean ships. Also, I should mention that the fanon is strong with this pairing, and so the amount of OOC fanfic on ao3 is quite astounding.

Oh dear, Spike/Xander was my absolute least favorite Buffy pairing. I hated them. D: (Spike/Angel or Spike/Buffy I'd be fine with, though!)

So, not a fan of Xander? I'd still suggest to try it out: the dynamic is similar but Stiles is not as much of a douche as Xander sometimes happened to be.

I never had any use for Spander either, because I generally have no use for Xander. However, I love Stiles to itty bitty pieces.

OTOH, I wouldn't have said Spike/Xander was the obvious parallel, anyway; in my mind, the contrast of goofy/good-natured with dark-and-broody is a lot more analogous to, hmm, maybe Xander/Angel. (Again, with the Xander =/= Stiles caveat.)

Angel/Xander was my second least favorite pairing. XD

I hated Xander. The "goofy/good-natured" character archetype generally is one that doesn't interest me much, especially if done in the Xander Harris fashion. Hopefully Stiles really isn't like him!

Like I said, I had no use for Xander, but Stiles charms my socks off. There's a lot of good fic written from his POV that is also charming and hilarious.

I have such a craving for some consensual only-starts-when-both-adults John/Sam that I cannot even define it.

How would that work? Why would it happen?

Curious nonnie is curious.

I guess it needs the same kind of stretch as many of the pairings, but I imagine it in an AU in which John doesn't die, and they get to continue on some of that bonding that started to show up toward the end of S1.

While John's been hunting with Dean pretty consistently since Sam left, and so has seen Dean gradually change, Sam's been gone for four years (nearly five at the point they get back in contact with him, I think), and the years between 18 and 22-23 make a lot of difference, so the Sam that John meets again is likely to be a very different Sam from the one who left.

They had the same old conflicts for a while, but those dropped off sharply after John started letting Sam and Dean in on the info, and they were connecting pretty well talking about Mary and Jess. Now, obviously in the show, that's a father-son bonding moment of shared grief framed in purely familial terms. But, heck, I've wilfully (mis)interpreted plenty of heartwarming Sam-and-Dean filial moments as (for *fanfic*, not *show*) grounds for incesty fun, so why not with John, too?

I'm theorising that, with the separation and Sam having grown up apart from John and Dean, it might be easier for John to view Sam as something other than his *child*, particularly if they hunt together for a while.

John seeing adult-Sam as a different person also neatly sidesteps hinky awkward feelings I have about the idea that there could have been something when Sam was a kid. Which, to be honest, I'll read in kinkfic, but in that, the squick factor is part of the appeal.

Ah, okay! John/Sam is a pairing I've never been able to get into, maybe because their relationship in canon feels too much like a regular father/son one for me to see it and I always really like it when people explain how they'd see a ship working because it helps me understand it better. :)

I've read a few John/Dean stories where Sam Finds Out and now you're making me want John/Sam where Dean Finds Out. Somehow, I can't see Dean taking it well. XD

Yes, they definitely seem very typically father/son to me, too, so I need to blinker a little, theorise a little, and blatantly go LALALALALALA a little, but I think the dynamic could be really interesting... and, as you say, the repercussions if Dean Found Out! :DDD

Would he assume John's pressured Sam into it somehow, and be all protective? I rather think he *should*, as an older brother, have that protective reaction on finding out there's parent/child sex going on. Would he also feel, in a way that he's not entirely willing to admit to himself, left out? Because not only have they strengthened family ties in a way that doesn't include him (and family is so very important to him), but also they've been keeping secrets.

I don't suppose you've got links or some searchable info for the John/Dean stories, do you? I've read loads of JDM/J stories, but not an awful lot of John/Son stories (other than kinky kink fills with kinks).
