Cas is treated as a secondary character who doesn't appear at all in fics set in the first three seasons of the show and is also absent the majority of the time thereafter. And is sometimes an antagonist or not aligned with Sam and Dean.

Oh, you weren't asking about canon?

I hope, if you write fic, that you never fail to feature Bobby, and that you remember that he is as important a presence in Dean's life as Castiel.

Is the ayrt a known troll? Because otherwise, I don't understand why not wanting to see a character bashed is such a terrible thing. I don't like character bashing as a general rule.

I don't get it. Not wanting a character to be bashed isn't being a troll. Not wanting a canon relationship diminished isn't being a troll. If I ask for clarification that Dean doesn't cheat on Lisa in an S6 Sam/Dean rec post, I'm not trolling.

I'm a Dean!girl who likes Sam/Dean best but I absolutely appreciate a head's up about S/D stories where Cas is completely unimportant to Dean, especially if it's done in a bashing kind of way. I like their friendship a lot. Again, that isn't trolling.

The troll was insinuating that Cas, a side character, should appear and be just as important in Wincest stories that Sam is in D/C stories. They also insinuating that Cas was always bashed in Wincest fic(which he isn't.)

If you can't see the trolling with that comment then good for you?

Woah. I didn't get that at all. I read it as the person wanting to check in and see if and how a character that they like was presented.

I do that a lot with S4 fic, and aus that follow the general pattern of season four. I love me some awesome!Ruby, and even though she isn't the most important character in the story, it's important to me to know if she's there and how she's treated.

I read it the same way, probably because I am a rapid back-clicker at the first sign of bashing (for any character, in more than just this fandom).

You seem pretty paranoid about this, nonnie. I didn't get that impression at all. The comment didn't say that Cas was always bashed. It didn't insinuate that. It said only that they don't like it when Cas is ignored or mistreated, not that it happens all the time.

You are reading a lot into this that isn't supported by the facts.
