Why is it the only fans that matter are the ones that would've done this? :\

It's not that the only fans that matter would have been the ones screaming about her, it's that they would have been screaming LOUDLY.

I think it's fairly obvious that TPTB do in fact hear some of the really loud screeching, and adjust storylines accordingly (Jo, Bela, Crowley being killed, Cas being killed, Sam and Dean being separated, etc). it's not ideal, but it's how things seem to go with this show.
