The New York state senate is voting tonight on whether to legalize gay marriage. If they pass it, the governor has promised to sign the bill. I'm not sure how the vote is going to go. *crosses fingers*

New York State Senate voting on same-sex marriage bill sometime tonight. Not American either, but glued to the livestream. Would double the number of same-sex couples who could marry in the US. Has been in limbo for awhile, and is very tight. Might even tie.

I'm trying to watch this on livestream but it's pretty dry.

From what I understand, which is probably not much, not-for-profit organizations have been added to the list of religious organization that can't be held accountable for their decisions to not provide services to gay people.

He's the only Democrat voting against the bill, he wants you to know that first of all. And the rest of his party is sending a bad message to the people.

He spent basically all of his 2 mins talking about how they were trying to take away his right to speak. As someone said on twitter: I love the irony of someone voting against gay marriage complaining about his rights being taken away in a debate.
