Game of Thrones - Daenerys Targaryen

I know, I'm late for the party, but I just watched the 1st episode of Game of Thrones and I can't say if I liked it. The whole Daenerys thing made me very uncomfortable. From what I understand, her entire life she was treated like a tool by her brother, and then being forced to marry and subsequently raped... Do things get any better for her?

She's turned out to be one of my favorite characters in the books and omg i love her so much kjaslkdjklasjddj GOT! <3 <3 <3

They do in the books. But that scene in the books was way less rapey, too, so I can't say for sure what the show is planning.

Depends on your definition of better, because life sucks for everyone in this story lol. But I'd say yes. She comes into her own, learns to stand up to her brother, and more or less becomes a leader figure. And her relationship with Drogo becomes something strangely sweet, in the book at least. The show hasn't had much time to focus on her story compared to the others so I'm not sure that will ever come across.

Dany's one of my favorite characters though so maybe I'm biased. But I think she's a bad ass in her own way :)

Yes, things definitely get better for her. Much much better. She's one of the main main characters, her story develops nicely.
And she's my favorite in the books. ♥

The rape and not being in control of her life are uncomfortable to watch, but she's very much a survivor. Keep watching. :)
