Depending on what school you go to, nonnie, I think that you'll be surprised by the variety of ages of people attending college. I went back to continue my education and I'm not exactly fresh out of high school anymore but there were people that were older than me there. And by "older than me," I mean "old enough to be my father." Of course, there were also the kids that I felt had just been let off their mothers' apron strings as well.
I think that you'll do better than what you think because of the fact that, since you're older, you'll have more determination to succeed and ability to buckle down than a lot of your typical college freshmen. You'll also know more about where you want to go in life. A great deal of college kids are aimless not necessarily because of a lack of ambition or a lack of ability but just because they're too young to make those kinds of life-altering choices yet.
