Awkward

(Anonymous) 2011-04-11 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
The census papers are being collected this week where I live, and the guy who came to get mine was about my age and cute. He made small talk with me while he was filling in some stuff and was nice and me, being fairly pathetic, babbled too much and read way too much into the situation. When he finished writing he said good afternoon politely and left in a hurry lol.
And now I feel like shit because how egocentric of me to think he was interested.

Anyway, are you able to know right away when someone is attracted to you or are you as socially ignorant as me?

Dude, don't be a stereotype. If he was cute, you felt like flirting with him, that's what you do in that situation. Even if he did actually run off awkwardly instead of just.. going off to do his job, then that's just him not being interested for whatever reason. It doesn't make you egocentric, it makes you someone who saw a cute guy, flirted with him, and unfortunately he didn't flirt back. Jeez, you sound like a girl I have on my flist.

Yeah, now that some time's passed I actually don't feel that bad. And I'd usually never flirt with him so it was a good thing I got some guts and did it. Too bad it didn't work.
