Unless you somehow have access to their bank records and income tax returns, you don't really know anything. Plus, I think it's weird that you're more concerned about potential financial fraud than you are about them doing drugs around their kids. If you think their children are in danger, make a call to CPS. Otherwise, mind your own business. IMO, of course.
But it's pretty disingenuous to say that you don't can't know anything about the financial situation of people you speak to several times a week.
No one can know everything about their finances but them, their bank, and the IRS, but when they blatantly admit they have left out information from their food stamp application, it's pretty clear they are knowingly defrauding the government. And wasting everyone's tax dollars in the process.
And again, the fact that you're focusing on tax dollars and not on the safety of their children suggests that your priorities are pretty fucked up. If you don't like what they're doing, stop talking to them "several times a week." And then mind your own business.
