I'm 98% they're a butthurt shipper, but I don't know how to get them to shut up (they've infected two threads now, one in The Vampire Diaries forum, and "The Race Card" forum in potluck). For some reason, their insistence is making me furious.

The person who ran it deleted it one night without warning. But we had this back-up comm that spnanonhaven had started months before, so we all came swarming over here!

I could see an argument for some low-level racefail in the fact that so far all the "witchy" characters are black (except Elena's ancestor), but that's about as far as I can see it.
The Bonnie/Jeremy scenes have been quite sweet so far, and it seems like that will probably go somewhere, Hot New Warlock guy notwhithstanding.
It's kind of a problem at TWoP, despite their stringent modding, the conversations frequently get derailed by one person with an axe to grind.

I like talking about these issues, but I've decided that the internet is definitely not a good place to do it. The race thread has now been locked, though, because of the poster who was continually belaboring their point about Damon/Bonnie.

A poster can completely derail a thread, and their opinions can not be based on fact or anything we've seen in canon, but they're still that person's opinions. You can't exactly tell someone "Don't be offended by this", even if their argument is weak and nonsensical (which is not always the case, but was here). They see it how they see it, and the mods tend to only shut people down after multiple complaints have been made.

One poster even expressed, in several different threads, their fear of their favorite show being racist, and how they didn't want to have to stop watching because of it.

You are dealing with a student population. You are going to get a lot of calls from people struggling with sexuality issues. It is really, really not helpful if in your screening calls you ask a female caller if she has a boyfriend. Not partner, not SO, not boyfriend or girlfriend, boyfriend. Way to be sensitive to the issues of the people you are supposed to be, I don't know, maybe HELPING?
Someone should go to your website and hack a big, black question mark next to your Safe Space logo. Fail.
