I have to say, I've been really impressed by this fest so far. I don't know what the story is behind the scenes, but the mods are like a well-oiled machine. From sign-ups to posting, everything has gone so smoothly, especially with the shorter time frame. The mods have kept on top of things, and they've been in control, without being controlling.

Also, there may have been a few stories that weren't as great, but mostly I've found the quality of the fics posted to be pretty good.

I've been tempted to start a few fests, and I have a few friends who have, and I've never seen a first year fest run this smoothly.

Agreed with all of this.

I definitely think mine was one of the worst, but now that I've seen what other people wrote, I should do better next year. I've never participated in a challenge quite like this one before. I flailed a bit.
As a reader, I've been just about ecstatic. Every single thing I've read has been awesome or near awesome.

+1 Mods, if you meme, we think you are wonderful! I've gone from feeling like there wasn't quite enough fic to my tastes out there to being way behind on fic reading in a matter of three days.

They have done a really good job, but they also have a lot of practice. lazy_daze and balefully also run the spn_j2_xmas exchange, as well as blindfold.

I've run one exchange and it turned out to be way more difficult and time-consuming than I had expected when I started it, so I have a lot of respect for their abilities. I made some rookie mistakes that I bet l_d and balefully would have handily avoided.

na Actually lazy_daze and randomisedhabit run spn_j2_xmas, not balefully. randomisedhabit always seems a bit overshadowed in credit, poor girl, haha.
