....I still don't see how this is a criticism. Yes, yes you did indeed need those pictures because the theme was metaphorical not explicit. She could have also used mini chapter/section headings with the names of the games instead of the pictures. Or she could have not used pictures or headings and just hoped people 'got it' but that would have been a bit too obscure. What's your problem with how she did it?

AYRT I don't have a problem with how ze did it (other than the lack of alt text). What I would have liked was for it to have meant something in the end, to see something bringing it all together and tieing the theme in with the story. But maybe that's too deep for a spring fling.
