I liked this fic. The amount of detail is amazing. Sometimes it comes off as a lot of name-dropping because you're getting a crash-course in the superhero/supervillain names, but it evens out after awhile. I appreciated how--in typical comic book fashion--Jared and Jensen are each given a "greatest failure" moment.

This really plays like a comic book, actually. An incredibly PORNY comic book but that only makes it better IMO. :D

A few things that kind of bugged me: the Js having sex right after Jared rescued Jen. ...Wouldn't there be a possibility of their teammates getting, you know, slaughtered while they're busy fucking? Not even a little bit on concern?

The only other thing that bothered me is just my OTP-gene getting in the way. I really wanted the boys to have finished hashing out their issues (at least partially) and get their HEA.

But those are really kind of minor. Overall, definitely worth a read.

There was a single line about the fight being over I think because that was irritating me too.

Aside from that, agree about the lack of HEA but liked it a lot overall otherwise.

Not just the question of the fight being over, but that Jen is shackled to the wall and has been used as a human battery for days, and he might, you know, want to be let down from the wall and get a little time to recuperate before having Jared slamming into him. It made that sex scene not terribly enjoyable for me.

I was unhappy with the lack of HEA at first, but it made sense the more I thought about it: Jared needs Jensen to be ready to unmask himself, not have it done for him, and the tone of the ending was such that it's probably going to happen in the not-too-distant future.

Seriously. Through that whole sex scene I just kept wincing, thinking about how numb his arms must be, how much he must hurt, how tired he must be. And then I thought "wow, Jared, not fucking cool." He had my sympathy through most of the fic but he lost it then. Like, seriously, dude? Right now if when you have to stick your cock in him? C'mon.

I don't mind the lack of HEA, I like the ending. I just wish I had skipped that last sex scene.

I agree about the human battery thing. I was kind of "Hello?" about it. I understand why FF had to put it in (it was scene for her prompt) but still.

I would love to see a sequel to this fic about Jensen being ready to unmask himself.

I think that was the dub-con warned for in the header. Techinically Jensen agrees to it but even she acknowledges in-fic that Jared might have been wrong to fuck him then.

I didn't really like this fic. For the same reasons listed above. The sex scene at the end didn't make sense. I like pwps, but usually she does a better job of blending characterization and porn, and this just didn't have it. I liked the first half, but the second half basically ruined it, so i can't really say i'd recommend it.

Totally disagree. I thought characterization was right there in the porn. She did a really good job of making the porn really about the characterization. Obvs ymmv.

Yeah def YMMV.

The first half maybe. But then the second half just fell flat, and that sex scene at the end just ruined the entire fic for me.

I totally loved the second sex scene but it hit all my kinks for slightly messed up dub-connish sex, which I understand could be problematic if that's not your thing.
