The fic is not that much like the movie. I personally prefer that in an AU, but if you go into this as a fan of "Spirited Away," you're going to be disappointed.

Basically, Chad and Jared land on a mysterious planet. The fog rolls in and Jared loses comm contact with Chad. Jensen shows up and helps Jared get a job in the bathhouse so he can hide out until he can find a way to rescue Chad. Instead of being turned into a pig, Chad has been taken to fight in a arena (to the death, natch). There's no magic or spirits involved.

There are echoes from the movie. Jensen and Jared met in the past, Jared has to go visit the sister of the person in charge etc. but it's done very differently from the movie, and everyone is a lot nicer and less scary. It's more like the plot was a framework that the author has written an original story onto.
