Eh. Not really my thing. It had potential but Crowley wasn't Supernatural's Crowley. That was Good Omens' Crowley right down to him calling Castiel "angel" just mixed with a bit of skeevy Hollywood agent. I liked him better when he was using "moose" and other good insults rather than "dear" as well. I think I'm also about ready for D/C to stop the general trend of Dean resolutely not thinking that Cas is being adorable right before he thinks about how Castiel is adorable several times in a story.
There were a few meta things that really irked me. EDGs don't actually think Sam is the devil and want to kill him, thanks. I was also unamused by Dean knowing what an EDG is to begin with. Plus Castiel making a point to tell everyone how wrong the bible is on national television just felt unnecessary. I'm not Christian so I'm not hung up on that but that's not something Castiel has ever come out and said in canon. I guess I'd have preferred if that were left in the subtext rather than spelled out for us.
Castiel, Dean, and Sam all doing interviews on Oprah and Ellen kinda nettled me as well. It all felt a touch OOC and hello, crackfic, but this type of set up is far more hilarious when it's actually IC rather than OOC. The entire thing was just a bit too twee for me, right down to the kids sending a letter to Dean and Castiel about how they're their gay role models.
It was cute and if someone likes slightly ditzy Castiel being all adorable and innocent and Dean being protective (mostly of Sam here, but also in general) then I'm sure it would hit their buttons. It's well written and there are some cute turns of phrases here and there. The author has potential, imo. I'd read more by her, but I'd be more interested in reading her non D/C fic since Dean and Castiel's interactions didn't intrigue me here.
Best part was Dean bitching about "Destiel" repeatedly.
