A while ago, and I'm not sure if it was DL or spn_gossip (tho I'm thinking DL), someone mentioned it was heard on the grapevine that the gay community in West Hollywood were not happy with Jensen's engagement. That if he 'put a ring' on D's finger that they would make public what they know about his gay hook up past. Can anyone else remember this? What got me thinking of this was, that could possibly be a reason why Jared went through with a wedding first. If Jensen had got married first, and if, a big IF, the shit hit the fan and confirmation of gay hook ups with Jensen came into the public eye then Jared would still be single and fair game to be pulled into the whole thing. But if Jared is already married, if anything like this goes down, then he's almost 'safe' behind his marriage. I've always been convinced that the guys had an almost, 'if you go down I go down' attitude with the marriages, meaning one not letting the other go it alone, hence the engagements timelines being almost simultaneous. Of course, if anyone remembers the rumours of West H being false, then apologies, its sometimes so confusing remembering whats whats when its stuff surrounding these J's we've got ourselves so embroiled in!

If what you're talking about is the rumor I think it is then it started on DL and traveled to spn_gossip. The way I remember it there was a group of gay in WeHo that had some dirt on Jensen and were threatening to use it if he "put a ring on it"--you were right about that quote. At the time I believe both comms dismissed it, DL because they didn't think any gay men would do that and spn because they didn't think there was any evidence to do it with. So far of course nothing has come to light, but if there is proof I could see what you're saying being the reason for Jared getting married first, but I don't see it why it would have to be while in the middle of filming the season. Maybe though that had more to do with the location and getting a winter booking, who knows.

I like your musketeers theory though. I could see them doing that. After all it's been said by a lot of people that the J's are totally supportive of one another and always have each others back. So I wonder if Jensen ever was outed what Jared would do especially now that he's safely married and could probably ride it out easily by just keeping his head down.
