Dean may have a rare controlling moment once in a while, but he's far from being abusive or oppressing, and Sam doesn't seem to feel like that when they're together. I usually side with Sam (though I consider myself to be a bibro) but I think Dean is not being an asshole for trying to bring Sam back with him at all. I guess he thinks it is right and that they 2 can be happy together doing their job and that's why he wants to try it.
