The fics don't depend on the artists though, they just get a set list of fics to choose from and if all the non-RPF is gone before they get a pick, they're shit out of luck. If I was an artist who had issues about doing RPF, I might be happy for the second option.

That set, we still don't know why there are two comms, we're just speculating. Maybe two people/groups had the same idea at the same time and neither one wanted to 'give up' theirs and join forces.
