New showrunner paranoia, maybe? I don't know, I've never seen Being Human, but though I've heard here that it does a lot with relationships and romance, I can't imagine, given the premise, that it's all happy, healthy date night sharing a milk shake and seeing a nice romantic comedy type stuff.
