Has anyone used a resume/cover letter-writing service? I've been very reluctant to use them in the past due to their cost ($250+ a pop), but six months surviving on freelance work is making me reconsider.

Any tips or recommendations of something that worked for you (or even someone you know) would be truly appreciated.
