I know a woman who has three children and is getting over $600/month of food stamps. What she didn't tell them is that she lives with her boyfriend (the father of 2/3 of her kids) and he makes plenty of money to pay their bills and buy groceries. She also gives some of her food stamps to her sister, who doesn't work and lives in a government-paid apartment complex under false pretences (she claims the mom and two kids are still living with her).

The woman is able to keep this all under wraps because she has a cousin working in the welfare office that is an accomplice in this fraud.

I'm really torn because these are serious charges and if there is an investigation, the woman could go to jail or have to pay serious fines. Her whole life could be ruined. But, there are so many people out there that actually do need this help and she's lying to get it.
