That didn't make sense. I meant I'm going to read the fic. I'm a bit drunk, wanted to see if I could fall asleep faster tonight.

I hope (or don't hope, whatever you're hoping for) it works!

Who else thinks the holiday weekend is all about an extra day to get super drunk?

Also Power Rangers.

Not me. I heart unions and Frances Perkins.

And I will always love that Baby was named for her.

In the interest of keeping TW in the OT post

The Alexandrian Solution

is a TW fic where Derek suddenly and unexpectedly has a knot. Stiles reacts in typical Stiles fasion, to quote:

"I accept your body!" Stiles says hurriedly. "I accept you. Sexually."

There is a pause. Derek says, "Thanks."

Go read! \o/

I'm totally charmed by this story. Thank you so much for reccing it; I don't really go looking for Teen Wolf fic and would never have seen it if not for you.

"I want you to," Stiles insists, clinging to the headboard. "It's okay, Derek, I know you want to. It's okay, you can, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay - holy shit."

Nrgh. Seriously, my id thanks you. There's no real power exchange happening here, but the sort of role flip-flop of Stiles verbally driving the action and then being relatively sexually passive appeals to my love of complicated power back-and-forth in porn. Also, it's so funny I was kind of blindsided by how hot it is.

I have a thing for crackporn - and basically for all the things you were talking about in the mainpost, so I thought it might appeal. :D

You're very welcome, nonnie! ^__^

I can't decide whether Community fandom is ALMOST as amazing as the show, or EVEN MORESO.

Here's Morgan Freeman (actually impressionist Josh Robert Thompson) reading 50 Shades of Grey: http://spnkink-meme.livejournal.com/62887.html?thread=19601575#t19601575

And this has already made the rounds, but Alan Rickman making tea in extreme slow motion to dramatic music: http://io9.com/5935919/alan-rickman-is-awesome-even-when-hes-making-tea-in-extreme-slow+motion

because

(Anonymous) 2012-09-14 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I need help. I'm not sure how to ask. I'm pretty sure you open your mouth and say: "Hey, friends and family, I need help." Instead, I'm washing my face pulling myself together and trying not to fall apart.

I'm sure there are other anonymous people who can relate.

Re: because

(Anonymous) 2012-09-14 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
{{hugs}} Yes, it's very difficult.

Do you have someone to ask for help? That's usually more important than how you ask.

Re: because

(Anonymous) 2012-09-14 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not easy to get over that hurdle and ask, it really isn't.

I don't know how it is for you, but for me, I have found it easier to first talk to people I don't live with - for example, friends with whom I'm close but don't have to SEE, with the theory that there's less pressure if it doesn't go well for whatever reason (I find it deeply embarrassing to cry in front of people, for example).

Testing the waters, even. Like, deciding to tell a friend part of the problem if you feel like it's too big to go all the way, and if that works, then you can elaborate.

Re: because

(Anonymous) 2012-09-17 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
This is rather late, nonnie, but when I went through a major crisis a while back, I found it was really hard to predict which people I found it easiest to approach for help (as well as which ones responded best). So my one bit of advice would be to listen to your gut -- if the thought of asking for help from your sister or best friend or whatever feels impossible or doesn't feel right to you, think beyond the most obvious relationships. Just look at your address book or whatever and see if there's a name that feels like the person you want to e-mail or call.

To this day I have never discussed the depression I went through with my brother, but a former supervisor of mine and a friend who up until then had been not one of my closest became amazingly supportive go-to people for me. Going through something big can really change your relationships, and change which people you relate to most.

Because this is a way more interesting vote....

(Anonymous) 2012-09-19 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
American nonnies, does Romney still have a chance after all the horrible things he said that was leaked? I'm quite new to American politics but to me his views seems so fringe and yet he's in the running to be the president. In my country statements like that would spell the end of their political career.

Re: Because this is a way more interesting vote....

(Anonymous) 2012-09-19 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Romney's always been on the fringe, an ultra-conservative conservative. When he was nominated I didn't think he stood a chance, but he's been getting a surprising amount of support, not to mention there's a lot of crabby Democrats angry with Obama who are threatening simply not to vote at all. Hopefully this will light a fire under their asses. We'll see, though. After Bush, I lost all my faith in the voting public.

It depends on whether Democrats get their asses to the polls. There's a lot of apathy right now that may help Romney.
