I need good het fic - preferably original. My best friend is reading 50 Shades and told me she likes the porny bits! I need to show her what good porn fic actually looks like. Help me nonnies!
50 Shades of Gray — it's a live published book of "erotica" that's hit the New York Times bestsellers list, but it had a not-so-secret beginning as a bdsm office AU in the Twilight fandom before it's serial numbers were filed off.
Hey meme, I'm going to New Orleans for a few days and was wondering if y'all could rec me some fun stuff to do there. The previous threads for Chicago and San Francisco looked super helpful, and I was hoping for a hat trick. Thanks :)
Sadly unhelpful, but wow, earworm. A couple of weeks ago, I heard the song in the supermarket and had to stop myself from singing along.
I hope you have a great time there! =)

Haha, right? The first time I heard a snatch of the song it stuck with me until I caved and googled it.
Thank you :)
Thank you :)
Nonnies! I come seeking assistance!
A friend of mine is putting together a collage of a whole bunch of internet memes, and he asked me if I could help him out, as I'm a bit of an internet nerd. However, I am drawing a blank... and know that a whole bunch of people around here probably have a better knowledge of it than I do. My first thoughts are things like Maru the cat, Clean all the things, Your head is pastede on yey, etc.
So if you can think of anything, no matter how obscure (although a little known might be useful) please post it here! It can be just the text, or an image, or a video, or whatever you feel like.
TIA!!

Any other nonnies addicted to this game? It's been down for 12 hours now and I'm jonesing!
Sounds like something I'd be into, except apparently it's only for the ipad/iphone/isomething. I don't have any fancy pants smartphone, that shit is too expensive here. I'll just be over here with my Playstation 2, I guess.
This looks very interesting. I'm already addicted to a somewhat similar game though, called DragonVale. It's probably a childish version of Trade Nations. We're the owners of Dragon island farms :D
I'm reading one of his newer books ("Now You See Her") with my mother and holy crap is it horrible. Seriously, the dialogue, plot and characterization is just ridiculously bad. Is that normal for him? This is the first book of his I've read and I know he's a popular author, but I don't really trust the general public's taste in literature.
I hate you. *has spent last week playing Dragonvale*
Hello nonnies! I've seen people ask for touristy recommendations here before, and it seemed to work well, so I come asking for the same things!
I have a few days in Montreal. What would you recommend I go see or do?
Thanks!

Ah! Another victim. I love it. I finally got my second rainbow dragon today.
Do you want to trade gems with me, nonnie? If you're not comfortable with sharing your game center name here, I could change my name there for nonnie_anon or something for a while so you can find me.

I've never read anything by him. Do you usually read thriller/mystery books, nonnie? Have any recs for me? That you can remember.
Hello! Here are some suggestions, classified by type:
Cultural thingbobs
Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
Montreal Museum of Modern Art (Musée d'art contemporain)
St. Joseph's Oratory
Notre-Dame Basilica
Olympic Stadium (not very impressive imo, but if you're in the area you could give it a 30-second ogle and cross it off the list)
Science-y things
Biodome
Insectarium
Botanical Gardens*
Redpath Museum (located on the McGill campus; focuses on the natural sciences)
Ecomuseum* (kind of an animal conservation/zoo type place showcasing local fauna)
Montreal Science Center
Outdoorsy/movement-requiring activities
Biking along the lake* (or strolling, or kayaking, or anything you please)
Mount Royal
Skating at the Atrium
Old Port of Montreal* (wear walking shoes! Uneven cobblestones everywhere)
Fun stuff
La Ronde (amusement park)
Underground city (extensive network of underground malls and public places)
Ste-Catherine Street (heart of downtown, good for shopping)
Gay Village
Eat poutine if you've never had any!*****
I also hear Montreal's night life is quite exciting, but I'm unfortunately useless on the subject.
*'s are reccer's picks, just stuff I personally enjoy most
Hope you have fun and enjoy your time here! I'd be happy to elaborate on my suggestions or answer questions if you've got any.
