1) Yes, discussions of meme are on topic on meme. This isn't TWoP.
2) I wasn't asking you to repeat it, though a link would be nice. Is this a comment you saw on meme? I'm still confused. I'm convinced now that you apparently weren't trolling, but you have to admit it's pretty atypical to start a thread in an entirely different post to blame all of meme for one comment and announce a flounce.

It is screened, I'm not sure I can link it. Even if it's possible I'm not going to look in my inbox and read it again. And I'm NOT blaming all of meme, I'm well aware it was one only person. This isn't about me flouncing, I mostly wanted reassurance that other people think it is unacceptable as well. But as I see posting in the wrong place is more of an issue.
Yeah. :( I didn't quit before because I was enjoying a lot of the discussions and the silly fun.

This is a really weird overreaction, imo. One person says something gross, so you're blaming the entire meme and flouncing? How do you ever function on the internet? Do you avoid tumblr as a whole because that one poster stupidly compared Sera Gamble to a Nazi?
The fact that the comment was apparently screened (I didn't see the original comment) says flat out that it crossed the line. And in the past, when similar comments have been made, meme as a whole has come down on those anons hard. So I don't get what's up with you, OTT!nonnie.

If you want confirmation that the comment is unacceptable, start a thread saying, "wow, wasn't that comment unacceptable?" Don't come here and flounce, blaming all of meme for one commenter's stupidity and then claim you weren't flouncing to begin with.

Yes, you can link screened comments. Just telling you this for future reference, not saying you should in this case.
But you did blame all of meme and flounce: "Quitting you, meme, even if I loved you and defended you in the past."
Anyway, I'm not sure what you want. It's hard for people to get upset over a comment they didn't see. That doesn't mean I or anyone else thinks it's more egregious to post in the OT thread than say whatever was said in the comment you object to.

I don't blame all the individual memers. It's making me uncomfortable that one individual thinks this is a place where they can overstep that particular line and I could stumble over comments like that in the future even if I try to avoid the nasty wank threads.
Okay, it's obvious I'm not expressing myself well right now and my reaction is colored by emotions, so I'll take a step back now.

If it was screened, they couldn't overstep that particular line. Because, you know, it got screened. o__0 so much o__0
(And fwiw, I'm a tracking nonnie and searched my inbox for "kill yourself" and "suicide". Nothing came up, screened or otherwise. I smell a rat.)

I track as well, and haven't found anything. Granted, I haven't checked it in a few days, but I looked at the post for 'screened comment' and only found the one under WHY. But that didn't have any reference about suicide, so idk.

The AYRT has yet to say it was a comment made *on* meme, even after they were asked. Assuming the comment exists at all, it could be something in a private journal that the OP thinks is somehow meme related.
IMO this comment is weird and it's weird being told my reaction is OTT. by what standard? I know meme is got at censoring this kind of shit but I still had to read it. I function very well on the internet, I approach youtube comments with a different mindset. And yeah, I manage to steer clear of nazi comparisons on tumblr just by not moving in stupid asshole circles. It's possible. Also I don't find Nazi comparisons as upsetting as telling someone they should be dead.

No need to post that since op has definitely quit meme by now if they aren't a troll.
Why they felt the need to post anon on a anon meme that they are quitting I will not understand. We will miss you nonnie who we don't know and so we didn't know we missed you until you posted this?

I'm looking to get an e-reader for fanfiction-reading purposes (as well as books, but, honestly, mostly fanfic). I'm going on a fourteen hour drive in the near future, and I thought I'd ask you guys for options, because I know a few of your nonnies have e-readers.
Some things I'm looking for are PDF file compatibility for fanfiction, Text-to-speech (I get motion-sickness very easily, so any files I'd put on the e-reader would need to be said aloud), and Web browsing (not really necessary, but would be a nice feature). I'm not actually sure what else I'd need in an e-reader.
I was thinking the Kindle Keyboard could be perfect. I'd have to covert the PDF files to something else for the text-to-speech to work (the internet told me so), but, other than that, it seems to have all my wants. And it's not terribly priced either. But, before I made the leap, I thought I'd ask you guys. Always good to get a second opinion.

If you want it out loud, why not podfic?
OP
Not all fanfic comes with podfic. Granted, not all fanfic comes with PDF either, but the number is greater. Also, I do read original fiction, just not as much as fanfiction.

I've done a cost comparison between tablets and e-readers, and, for what I want, an e-reader is more feasible. Unless you feel an iPad has enough value, in regards to what I want to justify buying one?

If you're just wanting to read fanfic and original fic on it, probably not. If you just want something cheap and quick, an e-reader is probably the right choice.
There's just so many more options with a tablet. There might be 5 apps for voice-to-text (I'm not too sure, don't quote me on that). The organizing and displaying of documents (whatever format) is something I know would be easier and you would have more choices. Plus, you can download the apps for B&N or Amazon, or just store PDFs.
E-readers certainly have their place. I have a Nook myself and I love it for what it is. If price is your biggest concern, happy e-reading. If you're interested in functionality and expansion and using one device for more than just reading, I'd definitely consider shelling out the extra cash for a tablet.

Yeah, I'm mostly looking for something read with. XD I love the idea of a tablet, but I can't justify to myself spending an additional $300 on something I could do with my laptop. They are cool, though.

Did anyone else read this book? Oh please tell me there's a fandom. With lots of slash.
I have never heard of this book before, but now I want to read it.
I'm only halfway through, but I'm really enjoying it. Now I hope it ends well. I hate it when books I really start to enjoy end all pear-shaped.
